Are you looking for some business ideas for women to help you figure out what you want to do or how to get started?

As women, we have many talents and sometimes need help narrowing down what we really want to do.

What are you passionate about? If you don’t know, that’s ok. Try different things you’re really good at.

I’ve always had a passion to help others and blogging has been a great tool which I would have never in a million years thought I’d be making a living on.

This basketball quote has stuck with me over time, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”.

It’s important to just get out there and Start. Something.

This list of business ideas is perfect for housewives because they not only pay well but can also provide you with the freedom to spend more time with your family and build an empire.

You can also find a successful woman behind most of these business ideas for women at home along with tools and resources to get you started.

At the end of this article, I’ll also show you how to make up to $400 per research study.

1. Blogging

Blogging is the #1 business idea because it’s what I do :-). I was inspired by other moms who enjoy blogging as a business and also have the advantage of staying home to raise their kids at the same time. Blogging is one of the best stay at home mom jobs because you work completely on your own schedule.

After seeing blog income reports from $2k-$50k a MONTH, I thought, why can’t I do that? And now I am!

I love blogging because it helps bring in a decent income and I get to help people.

You can certainly make money writing about different things, but Scrivs from says the 7 top blog niches that gain the most traffic and make the most money are:

  • How to Make Money
  • Personal Finance
  • Health and Fitness
  • Food
  • Beauty & Fashion
  • Lifestyle
  • Personal Development

It’s important to remember if you want to make money blogging it’s not personal, its business.

2. Affiliate Marketing

This falls under blogging but because it’s such a great way to make money from home, I’m going to mention it again.

Do you know what Affiliate Marketing is? I had no clue before I started blogging, and it is now my favorite way to make money.

You know how you recommend different products or places to friends? Well, now you can get paid for it!

Affiliate Marketing is when you refer someone to a product or service online using a unique link and if they make a purchase through your link you earn a commission.

3. Freelance Writing

Do you like to write? You can make a lot of money as a writer, I know because I interviewed Holly Johnson who makes OVER $200,000 a year as a Freelance Writer. I didn’t even know that was possible!

Holly Johnson found the secret sauce when it comes to writing and charging the right rate for your work. She created a free introductory training on how to build a six-figure writing career. I highly recommend taking her course if you want to work from home writing and follow her path to success.

4. Proofreader

Caitlin Pyle of Proofread Anywhere made $43,000 in her first year proofreading while working part-time and studying abroad.

She realized there was a huge open market for proofreaders, so she designed a course to help others get started.

5. Bookkeeper

Bookkeepers record financial transactions, and it can be done either as a freelancer or for a company remotely.

I had the pleasure of interviewing two successful stay-at-home moms who work from home as a Bookkeeper and started out with NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE.

This is a MUST read as one of the moms has NINE kids, homeschools six, AND still has time to earn a living Bookkeeping.

If you want to start your own Virtual Bookkeeping Business and make $60 per hour, check out this free training to find out if it’s right for you.

6. Life Coach

Do you love personal development and enjoy helping people? Do you want to build a business of your own? If that’s you, you should consider becoming a Life Coach.

How much you can make really depends on your market. If you are targeting lower-income you can charge $47 per hour, if you’re targeting higher income you could charge $297 per hour or much more. It also depends on your model, are you doing 1-to-1 coaching or group coaching?

7. Flip Items from Flea Markets and Thrift Shops

Rob from the Flea Market Flipper put me on to this (I know he’s not a woman, but he does this with his family). He made over $130,000 flipping items from Flea Markets and thrift stores PART-TIME.

He created a course to help others do the same and recommends to his students to start with a budget of $20-$50 to find items. Off of that, they should be able to make $100-$300 (mostly reselling on eBay) and then take some of the profit and do it again.

How much can I make? Rob made $42,000 as a side income (10-15 hours per week). When he put more time into it (20-35 hours per week) he made $133,000. You can see the more time you put into it, the more money you can make.

8. Create an Online Store with Drop Shipping

Drop shipping is a method where you can sell third-party products from a Drop Shipping Company without ever seeing or shipping the item. When you make a sale, the product is shipped directly to the customer from the drop shipper.

Your profit is the difference between what you charge your customers and what the drop shipping company charges you.
